GENERAL DESCRIPTION and TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
The IRS422 is an Async bi-directional RS232 <=> RS422 interface converter for 4-wire RS485/RS422 applications (full-duplex point-to-point). The unit has fixed light bias on the RS485/RS422 receiver, jumper selectable termination, and RS232 DTE/DCE selection. The unit has 3 LED indicators, screw terminals, and an onboard switching regulator. The unit will operate at speeds up to 115.2Kbps.
The IRS422 is designed for office and/or isolated industrial applications, and is used for 4-wire full-duplex, point-to-point applications (remote sign control, RS232 "extension core"). The IRS422 can be used in outdoor applications; however, many factors can affect reliable operations.
